Opened in 1886, the school colors are green and white and the school's mascot is the Grizzlies, formerly the Indians, after the Board of Education voted to change it on June 29, 2020. In 2015, the town opened a new high school.

School Reviews5 10/10/2025A very recent NEW school top to bottom, with state of the art equipment and classrooms was built in 2015. The School System tends to have Students from Grade School through Graduation because there is little transient population. Within Grades, students know each other, grow up together, Play Sports, lessons, music together. Post Secondary Education is the norm, and many excellent schools are represented. School Spirit and particularly Parental involvement are High. One very special feature: Graduation is on the Town Green, open to the entire Town. The facilities leave a lot to be desired based on the median income of the town. There is no pool and the buildings are in need of repair. There are problems with the roof leaking and many students have problems with asthma & allergies including the staff. Buckets are placed in the hallways on rainy days.
