School Reviews5 1/31/2025It is great to be able to send your kid to a school at which being curious, hard-working, and eager to learn makes them a leader, not a target, in the eyes of their fellow students! Through its project-based learning model, Nex+Gen gives students soft skills鈥攍ike teamwork and project management鈥攊n addition to college-prep-level education in subject matter. The teachers are excellent, the facilities are new and beautiful, and the school is very well run. Our student has been able to take advanced (AP and college dual credit) courses both on and off campus, with the school very accommodating of the latter. The art program is fantastic, with an amazing teacher, and they offer fun, often unique extracurriculars; but most sports and music have to be done through the larger public schools in the district.5 3/14/2022My son attended Nex+Gen back in 2011 about a year after it first opened. He had some mental health issues and had to leave before graduating but he still talks about his teachers there and that he wished he was able to finish out the year to graduate. When they have Alumni Days, where past students return to share their Nex+Gen experiences, he feels like he''s returning home to see his old family. Pretty cool. Nex+Gen is a good place for school culture and for academics. The alumni that return share endless stories of how Nex+Gen prepared them for college and beyond.3 12/8/2021Oh yes, very wonderful school. I taught Spanish for many many years but am sadly gone now. Very special students, very intelligent. Especially Cortez. Very strong boy, showing what NexGen is all about. I miss you, Cortez. Come back!5 5/21/2020We have been more than happy with Nex+Gen. When Covid-19 hit, moving to an online learning environment hasn't been easy for most school. Nex+Gen was ahead of the game because they already use technology throughout the learning process. Each student has an assigned MacBook Air and uses it for submitting most of their work. The teachers are amazing, knowledgeable and skilled. Students not only learn from them but lean on them as they become not only teachers and mentors but family. I have had 3 kids successfully graduate from Nex+Gen. My kids have benefited from the project based learning environment and all that it teaches. I highly recommend this small yet impactful school for any child, including those with IEPs. Two of my four who have attended Nex+Gen have IEPs, and the staff works great with the students, while putting the students in charge of their own education.5 5/21/2020Definitely worth the 2 hour round-trip car ride I made every day to get my son to Nex+Gen. The education he received was top-notch... comparable to a private school education that cost tens of thousands of dollars. The staff did an excellent job preparing him, and his fellow students, for college. As he heads to UNM this Fall, I have no doubt that he has the skills to succeed.5 5/21/2020My daughter benefitted from her experience attending Nex+Gen Academy. She grew in her critical thinking skills and her ability to work with others. The teachers are hardworking and creative, and the school culture is very positive. This is a wonderful school!5 5/19/2020Nex+Gen Academy has the best student culture! During our distance learning due to COVID19, almost all of my Chemistry students kept up their learning and participated in online class/assignments in some way. The students here are supportive of each other, respectful of their peers and their school, and enjoy working together. It is a rigorous academic science program - and our students are enthusiastic learners. I feel very lucky to be a science teacher at this amazing school!Review Nex Gen Academy.
